Castelli Evoluzione Bib Shorts
The value per performance ratio of the Evoluzione bibs are off the charts. What you get is a well-fitting, multi panel short with the classic Free-style vented upper and a super quality chamois insert. With this product, Castelli ushers in a solid performance garment at a very affordable price point.
The body of the bibs are constructed from 8 panels of Castelli's proprietary ProDry2 Strati fabric. This is a 220 gram two layer Lycra fabric, where both layers work in tandem to keep you both dry and cool. ProDry works like this: you sweat and perspire onto the single layer of ProDry2 that is next to your skin. This moisture then gets transferred to the outer layer. The layer next to your skin is now dry again and the moisture in the outer layer dries out quickly from exposure to the elements. This simple design is effective and works like a charm.
The uppers and suspenders use proven Castelli design and technology. The front upper section is wide and open in the front of your body, void of any excess material leaving you with maximum ventilation by simply having no material present. The fabric is highly elastic and vented. All edges are hemmed and doubled stitched for comfort and durability.
What we found most astounding about the Evoluzione bib is the chamois choice. Castelli choose the Kiss3 which was the top of the line insert just a few years ago. This level of chamois at this price point is simply unheard of. The Kiss3 features seamless integrated technology that has soft fabric on the skin care layer is lined with 4mm of soft foam for additional comfort. This insert employs infinite shaping of the high density foam to make sure the right support is located where it is most required.

The last pair of bib shorts I bought was over $300.00, and although very nice, they left me wondering... are they really hundreds of dollars better than...let's say, the "base " price point short? So, to compare, and then use for training , I ordered the Evolution bib. Ouch!! What I got was a short I was certain was the wrong order.....how can a short at that price be....as good or even BETTER than my expensive pair? First (order up one size) the fit is amazing...these shorts stay in place on 70 mile hard training rides....no stopping to pull up creeping legs etc......the lycra is a good weight, not the super thin kind that shows wear in just a few rides.....the front is not cut so low that you feel like someone forgot to finish the front panel.....and the Kis3 chamois is one of the best I have ever used.......these are now my #1 short.
Pros simply an amazing short at any price
