In the past few seasons, Skratch Labs Exercise Hydration Mix (aka Secret Drink Mix) has not been much of a secret among the pro circuit. Originally developed and perfected in Allen Lim's kitchen for his athletes, it is now available to the masses in limited quantities.
Unsatisfied with the energy drink mix offerings on the market, Allen decided to invent his own brand by careful testing and experimenting with the athletes he coached on various professional teams. The mix became so popular amongst the pro ranks, he went into production.
Other than the fact that Exercise Hydration Mix does an excellent job at keeping your energy level up, it is the products ability to keep replenishing throughout long rides without upsetting your stomach that is amazing. In short, it is east to drink all day like water, but it is much more nutritious.
There are three flavors to choose from, Lemon Lime, Raspberry and Orange. Each flavor is made with real fruit with no artificial flavors or coloring. They are packaged in 1lb silver reflective hermetically sealed bags, much akin to something NASA would issue an astronaut. We recommend using the Skratch Labs container for storage.

I've tried skit of sport drinks and this is by far the best to date. It has kept me well hydrated far beyond what others have done. The various flavor are great enjoy the rasberry the best.
Pros: Good taste keeps you well hydrated
Cons: Only a few flavors
I bought raspberry after seeing reviews here. The taste does not agree with me. Not tangy, not sweet, not salty, not tasty - sorta like stale iced tea that somebody added fish juice to. My wife asked me if it at least quenched my thirst, and I told her "yes, because I did not want to drink it anymore. In fact, I did not want to eat afterwards, either, so you could say it's an appetite suppressant, too." Not one to waste twenty bucks, I mixed about 50-50 with Gatorade G3 and it seems palatable now. What I really want to know is who are all the anonymous five star reviewers.
Not our opinion, but we need to post what people write if it is relevant - ed
Cons: Tasteless, pricey
Try the matcha and lemon it's the best mix i've ever had.
It is tough to decide between Pineapples and Raspberries but I love this stuff!
I was looking for a drink mix for my kids that was not loaded with sugar and other "stuff". Our whole family has made the switch, the kids love the flavors!
The best drink out there. I am surprised to say that Pineapple is my favorite flavor!
Pros: Light, refreshing
With the heat this stuff makes me want to drink. Evan when hot it was not bad. It is the only mix that I have tried that did not upset my stomach.
I have to agree with everyone on here Scatch is the shiz. This drink mix has been put through the test in this past heat here in CO and has kept me completely hydrated without the cramping, bloating and GI issues. It provides all of the electrolyes you need as well. DO yourself a favor and get some scratch!
Pros: gets the job done
Cons: a little more flavor, i mix it strong though
Best drink mix available, hand downs. Easy on the stomach, great cold or warm. So far, it's the only drink mix that I will finish off whatever remains in the bottle at the end of the ride. All other brands I've used, anything left in the bottle goes down the drain. Not with this one! All flavors are great, all equally smooth, no stomach distress, no bloating, no sloshing. I actually look forward to drinking it!
Pros: Light taste, no GI distress!
Very easy on the stomach. Doesn't come up on me like other harsh brand names.
Pros: Light taste
Lighter and refreshing compared to other drinks I have tried and it works great as well. have only tried the Raspberry but I may have to try the other flavors soon as well.
Pros: Light (not syrupy) and refreshing
Wow! Darn good stuff. Light drink that allows you to eat your calories. It's a lot easier to drink the amount I need to with SDM. Combined with the rice bars in Allen Lim's (the guy behind SDM) book I felt far better after my century than I normally do after 70-80 miles. It's also made from natural stuff. All the flavors are good and I rotate through them for variety.
Pros: Not heavy or syrupy/ Natural stuff
Cons: Spendy (but worth it)
The BEST thing I have had in a long time. No rot gut, easy to drink even after it warms up at the end of the ride. It will be the only thing I will put in my bottles. No more over engineered performance drinks that promises everything.
Best tasting drink out there. It will not upset your stomach after a long day in the saddle. No bloating sensations like other drinks.
By far the best sports drink I have used. The light flavor is very palatable. I would suggest trying each flavor, I only drink the Raspberry but my wife really likes the Orange.
