These levers are SRAM's forth iteration of a Force Doubel Tap brake shift lever. The brake lever is now made with UD carbon and Red-inspired white cosmetics. The Force DoubleTap shift-brake levers retain and build upon the previous upgrades, including one hightly user-requesd upgrade: the front derailleur can be trimmed while in the large chainring. ZeroLoss shifting lets front shifts engage immediately. An adjustable reach and the Force DoubleTap lever 15º anatomic friendly sweep allow them to work well for both small and large hands. The cable routing is nicely hidden underneath the bar tape and there is another cable routing option so the derailleur and brake cables can run along the front of the handlebar.
The SRAM Force DoubleTap shift/brake lever feature a well thought out design that is both light and elegant. Smooth up and down shifts are achieved with one motion. A light push of the shift lever moves the derailleur to harder gears and a firm push brings the chain up to the easier, climbing gears. A 15º sweep follows the natural movement of the hand and an adjustable reach give optimum drivetrain control. The comfortable lever shape is also aerodynamic and hides all the cables. A carbon brake lever and a magnesium shift lever provide both lightweight and stiffness.
