The Free Jacket is somewhat of a hybrid garment. Meaning, due to it's low volume and weight, but clever use of Gore Windstopper, it falls somewhere between a jersey and a jacket. And thus, this piece may end up being the most used item in your 3 season cycling wardrobe. Use it solo, or layer it with many different apparel options, like shells, base layers and vests to create the perfect thermal environment and ecosystem for your body depending on the temperature and conditions.
The Free Jacket features Gore's Windstopper X-Fast 2 textile throughout. This low volume and high-stretch membrane provides excellent protection from the elements. It is both windproof and water resistant, but offers outstanding breathability. This combination makes it a versatile and wonderful jacket to own and a must for many types of riding conditions. All panels are anatomically cut to give you a product that fits perfectly when in the riding position on the bike. The side panels use Castelli's super-stretch and water proof Thermoflex fabric on the side panels. These help improve the fit by bringing the front and rear panels that are sewn directly to them, closer together and unifying the jacket for a natural and synergistic fit. The interior has soft Roubaix fleece which is comfy and does a great job at wicking moisture. Storage detail is taken care of by three large pockets, just the way we like it. No fussy and hard to deal with zippers. Reflective strips and piping help keep you visible for added safety.
In summary, the versatile Free Jacket can be used in many 3 season conditions. It's low volume and lightweight per warmth, wind and water protection is simply amazing. Be warned, it may make many of your jackets and jerseys in your wardrobe obsolete. Choose color and size.
