The HED H3 is designed for maximum aero performance in a wide variety of conditions. Aerodynamics are accomplished by a 55mm deep rim section and airfoil section spokes. Many deep-aero wheels have a small sweet spot of optimal performance. Unlike very deep-sectioned rims, the H3 delivers performance under all conditions including slower speeds and crosswinds. Many professional athletes benefit from the performance of the H3, but it is probably the best performing choice for age groupers and recreational athletes. Carbon construction reduces weight by 170 grams over the aluminum/carbon model. Carbon specific brake pads should be used for the H3 Carbon.
