Just like all of Intense's bikes, this bike had to be the best (riding) bike in its category. Of course it has Intense's legendary build quality and detailed craftsmanship. The Hard Eddy is designed for the cross country rider that appreciates quality and want to ride something other than the highly distributed brands that every Tom, Dick or Harry is riding. The Hard Eddie is super light, weighing in at about 2.6 pounds for a large size frame. It has the well-tuned ride quality that Intense Carbon Fiber is so well known for and often copied.
Hard Eddie comes with QR 135mm rear dropouts but can easily be converted to QR 142mm or single speed with sleek, replaceable G1 dropouts nicely held in place with low-profile hardware. Intense also offers a matching rigid carbon fork available separately.
The ride quality comes from the refined Intense geometry and quality construction of the frame. Internally routed shifting cables reduce mud build up and enhance the aesthetic, flowing lines of the Hard Eddy. FLK/GRD chainstay & downtube protection creates a barrier between the frame and potential impacts on the lower portion of the downtube and bottom bracket as well as chain slap on the right chainstay.
Sticking to the successful formula used in the creation of the popular Carbine and Carbine SL, Intense Cycles used the design skills of Jeff Steber, and the Engineering skills of SEED Engineering to create another Carbon Fiber master piece.
Build info: Tapered headtube, Pressfit30 bottom bracket, 34.9 clamp-on front derailleur and 31.6 seatpost.
