This is the UST - tubleless version of the venerable Nevegal tire. Considered standard issue on many riders bikes, this tire delivers confidance inspiring grip and adhersion to the trail in spades.
The name "Nevegal" comes from a famous UCI downhill course in Northern Italy. The course has loose rocks, tall grass, limestone, muddy roots, running water, and single track. John Tomac designed a tire to work in those loose-type conditions. The tread has tapered, ramped knobs with multiple edges and tie bars connecting alternating transition knobs with cornering edge knobs.
All that being said, the Nevegal offers superior grip to the terrain. What really makes this tire special is the fact that not only does it have unbelievable traction, but it rolls very quick and doesn't feel sluggish - an issue with many agressive tires. The tire can be used for front and rear and is also considered by many as the ultimate front tire.
