The woven gloss carbon shaft is butted to save some weight but it is still not light compared with other carbon or even alloy posts available. The real reason you would purchase this post is for the ride quality. The Pro Carbon seatpost give the rider supreme comfort because the carbon is not too thin. The thicker carbon layup dampens road vibration for a smooth ride.
The carbon shaft has an alloy head that is bonded to the top of the post. The head is forged ball burnished then anodized. It features two bolts on each side of the post for tightening the saddle down with securely. The both clamps on the head are notched so you will not get any slippage once the saddle is fastened down tight.
The gloss finish covers and protects the beautiful 3K carbon weave underneath. Vertical Ritchey Pro Carbon graphics on each side of the post are not too big or flashy and add a nice touch to an otherwise low-profile looking seatpost.
