The X-12 standard RWS is another perfect product from DT Swiss. It allows the use of the X-12 standard dropout rear end to be used with the RWS thru axle design. It is one of the quickest rear mounting systems on the market and will definitely ensure a solid connection for the rear wheel. So you get the stiffness of a Thru axle with the user friendliness of a quick release.

The DT Swiss RWS rear skewer features a twist tight type action and Swiss quality. It provides up to 50% greater clamping force versus a conventional quick release. Simply spin the lever clockwise until tight, then place your thumb on the red button to pull the lever outward and rotate to the direction you want the lever to rest in (for aerodynamics or convenience) and snap into place, it's that simple.

Unlike the 80 year old traditional cam design used on standard quick releases, the RWS builds up clamping force by tightening a bolt with a lever. The lever can then be pulled outward and rotated into any desired position. To loosen the skewer and remove the wheel turn the lever counter-clockwise until loose. It is totally reliable and will not slip or loosen during use. Since it is made by DT Swiss you are virtually guaranteed a product with no-issues. As you would expect, all materials and workmanship are top notch.
