The Selle Italia SLR Superflow 145 saddle features a very large "super" cutout approximately 160mm long and 35mm wide for those seeking maximum pressure relief in sensitive areas. Most riders find this saddle exceptional - even those who typically don't like cutouts. This version is 145mm wide for extra sit bone support and despite its wider width, it is only 191 grams actual weight. Our staff like this model very much and finds the 145 one of the most comfortable saddles we offer with an anatomic cutout.
Selle Italia keeps the weight down with a carbon fiber impregnated shell and slim but effective EVA padding for some cushioning. Round, 7mm titanium rails give strength and allow this saddle to installed on virtually any seatpost. This saddle is an "L3" for those using the Selle Italia ID match system.
I've been running four of these for the last 2 years (road, mountain, cross, and tt). The fit works well for me; it's the first cutout saddle I've tried, and if I didn't see it before getting on the bike, I wouldn't know there was a cutout (no uncomfortable edges). The padding is minimal to moderate, but the flex of the carbon shell makes this saddle reasonably comfortable on rough roads. It's not padded enough for MTB. After 18 months, the shell of my MTB saddle cracked. I didn't complain, as it was damn light to be using on a mountain bike. 2 months later the road one cracked, which was disappointing. I'll keep using the 2 I have left on my road bike, but I'll look for something a bit more durable moving forward.
Pros: Comfort, low weight
Cons: carbon shell doesn't last too long
