Sturdy and tight-clamping, the composite system with the clever cam is exclusive to Mavic®. These skewers are OEM replacement skewers just like the ones that are included with Mavic's high-end wheels so you know they are race-proven and won't let you down.
Features
i have a pair that i've used for 17 years. No problems whatsoever. Maybe the newer model's quality has declined?
Pros: solid performance; on road and CX.
Cons: they got a little chewed up when used on the kurt
These skewers are terrible! They function just fine, but the rattling while riding will make you crazy! I can't believe a company like Mavic would allow their wheel products out the door with these skewers.
Pros: Work fine
Cons: Rattling is in tollerable!
I have used these skewers for several years without problems. Both on road and CX wheels. The cam feel is sure and positive and corrosion has been minimal. At this point no problem with oose rivits but at the price I think they are worth the money.
Pros: Solid locking cam
Cons: Rivited head might loosen.
These came on my Cosmic Carbone SLRs. The composite lever body is mated to the metal lever with what looks like some kind of rivet. Regardless the darn thing rattles like hell and will drive you mad. I don't think the performance of the skewer is compromised but it doesn't matter. It will ruin your ride. I don't know if this is a chronic problem or a one off thing but I am getting some new skewers and tossing these in the trash; maybe use the rear for my trainer. PS - They did this from new, it did not develop over time.
