The Super Record rear derailleur uses innovative technology to become the first derailleur to be completely fabricated from carbon fiber. The engineering and brilliant look of the carbon fiber upper and lower body is simply amazing. Not only does this shave weight but Campagnolo claims the carbon fiber body is more durable and far more rigid which produces faster actuation and more precise shifting. The oversize and scalloped pulley wheels are fitted with Campy's own ceramic bearings for super smooth action and longevity. The fixing bolt is constructed from heat treated alloy while the cable fixing bolt and washer is coated titanium. The carbon fiber outer cage completely wraps and envelops the derailleur for complete torsional rigidity.

Campagnolo says that this is "The masterpiece of the 2011 Campagnolo model range" and we have to agree. It is a fantastic piece of engineering and an absolute jewel. The price reflects the quality of materials and the amount of thought and energy it took to produce this incredible component.
