The X-Lab Super wing is an extremely functional, well-designed rear hydration system capable of carrying CO2 cartridges, an inflator, one or two bottle cages, tires, tubes and other items so they are very accessible. It is designed to clamp to standard 7mm saddle rails. The X-Lab super wing has a choice of three different mounting positions on the saddle rails and 4 different bottle cage angles for a possibility of 12 different cage angles. Its anti-sway design allows safer riding and long-term reliability.

The instructions were so bad that XLab shouldn’t have even bothered. No illustrations at all. Had to go to XLab’s site to see photos of one mounted. For those of you who are concerned about the weight, their claimed weight is very misleading. Including the mounting hardware this thing weighs 176g. I don’t think this is enough weight to matter, however it was their misleading advertised weight that I find distasteful. There are no threaded holes on the main piece of hardware. This means you will need a wrench in addition to a 4mm hex bit if you ever want to adjust your bottle cages. Overall I was very disappointed with this product. It’s a good idea but poorly designed. There is one positive thing I can say about it. Aside from the mounting hardware, everything is made of aluminum. The mounting hardware is made of stainless steel but that doesn’t mean it won’t corrode. At its price I was hoping for titanium hardware, just for the corrosion resistance.
