When the Sportful Survival Jacket arrived on the backs of Team SaxoBank, they were the envy of the peloton. It was the first true anatomically fitted storm jacket. Perfect for conditions that vary from light wheel spray to a torrential down pour. Beyond protection and fit, you get plenty of ventilation and perspiration management through the Gore Tex Active Shell fabric and added ventilation ports. Active Shell is a relatively new fabric from Gore. It's is a three layer laminate that uses a thinner version of the Gore Tex membrane. Gore's new lamination process combines the outer fabric right into the membrane, which allows for the improved breathability. What you end up with is a storm jacket that can actually transport moisture and breath.
The many panels that make up the Survival Jacket are all anatomically cut and attached with flat seam stitching. These seams are all then completely sealed. A long and retractable rear tail flap protects from wheel spray and can easily be tucked up and away when not in use. Small back elastic keeps the back of the jacket snugged up to your body. Reflective piping and accents keep you visible.
If you are looking for solid protection from the elements in a high quality product, the Survival is up there with the very best waterproof jackets. The quality design and construction, along with the Gore Tex Active shell membrane make it a perfect choice for the discriminating cyclist who demands the most from their purchases.
