A few years back, we saw a division of the masses in the mountain bike arena. Components were heavy and overbuilt for DH bikes or light and waify for XC rigs. We now see a hybrid of sorts where the All Mountain category has come to fruition. We have also witnessed DH technology being redesigned and lightened up to be used for XC use. This is where the XT 15mm hubs fit in. They are relatively light and offer gobs of stiffness for today's longer travel forks and larger diameter wheels, like 29ers. 15mm is becoming a Fox and Rockshox standard, which immediately makes this XT hub very relevant. For well over 2 decades Shimano XT line of components have been reliable and sensibly designed and priced, and this hub is no exception.

Highlights of the hub include stealth black anodizing treatment, combination of ball and angular contact bearings and machining for Center Lock disc attachment.
