The Mavic PowerLink tubular tire is a rear wheel specific tubular designed to complement and enhance the performance of Mavic rear tubular wheels, but it will work with any 700c tubular wheel.

Mavic puts a ton of research and painstaking efforts to create world class wheels with some of the best build quality in the business. Mavic's wheel research led them to take serious notes on the dramatic effect wheel performance is affected by tire selection. They also noticed quite a few riders using low-end bargain tires with quality wheels effectively negating a substantial portion of wheel performance. Mavic then came up with the idea of a wheel/tire system where the tire matches and enhances wheel performance.

The Yksion PowerLink tubular is made with a 60a tread compound on the sides for excellent grip during hard cornering and a harder 70a compound in the center for longer wear and more efficient power transfer. A high density 210 casing further enhances traction in corners as well as provides a supple ride quality that is the reason for going with tubulars in the first place. To add a dose of durability, the GripLink has a nylon belt for puncture and cut resistance.
