Clincher training tires have improved significantly as top-end tire materials and technology has improved. Michelin's original Krylion tire was a bit heavy, with great durability and flat protection, but lacking feel that good training tires truly need. The Krylion 2 Endurance Tire bears the name to higher standards, as this tire is essentially the Michelin Pro4 Endurance Tire, which a best seller for us here at Excel before the Power series tires replaced the Pro 4. At 245 grams in the 700x23 size, this is a tire that can competitive with many high-end clinchers, but adds the ProTek bead to bead sidewall and puncture barrier.

The Bi-Compound rubber reduces friction at the center, lowering rolling resistance, yet offering power, some puncture protection and durability. The shoulders carry a softer rubber, which enhances grip and control, especially in dry conditions, but more than holds its own when wet. The standard Pro4 110 tpi 3-ply casing makes the tire as supple as possible, even with ProTek barrier. The Krylion 2 Endurance delivers integrity and performance to go along with better wear properties, honoring the original Krylion while living up to the Endurance moniker, and it's direct Pro4 lineage.
