The Syncro 10 Hydration Pack hits the sweet spot for riders who need a reasonable amount of storage, 2.5-liter hydration, yet want a lightweight, feature laden pack for around a $100. Osprey knows packs, pack construction, and has been making cycling specific versions for several years. The fit and ergonomics of the Syncro as best suited for cycling, but won't out of place in any trail activity. The 2.5 liter Hydraulic LT Reservoir carries a fair bit of water and is easily refilled. It's internal baffle system keeps water from sloshing or changing sides as you navigate the terrain. In other words, this is a great cycling hydration pack, ideal for mountain biking, that also can double as an excellent commuter pack.

What makes the Syncro 10 stand out from the competition? Here is where Osprey's backpacking roots shine through. To carry a load effectively, a small pack must have a great back panel and harness system. The Air-Speed suspension and back panel features a peripheral LightWire™ frame with a 3D tensioned breathable mesh panel and side vents to provide the utmost in ventilated comfort and performance, no matter the load. The BioStretch™ ventilated harness is mesh covered, perforated EVA foam with a reverse spacer mesh wrap for increased comfort. Stretch mesh side pockets provide easy stuff carry options for items you might access while riding. the entire pack is made from Osprey's distinctive 100D honeycomb fabric, which is light, abrasion resistant, and water resistant. When you need more protection, an integrated rain cover is quickly deployed.

Osprey's finishing touches include a loop tap for a clip-on light, reflective elements, and easy top carry handle. Some of Osprey's more expensive packs have a few more bells and whistles, but the Syncro 10 is a great value for the money. The storage and pack specific features are dead-on, and the rider ergonomics are impressive. Those of you who commute on the weekdays and attack the local trails on the weekends will love the extra space gained by leaving the reservoir at home when you don't require it, doubling the Syncro's payload for gear.
