Many bike brands are now using 1.25" steer tubes which leaves very limited upgrade options--until now. The Ritchey WCS 4-Axis 44 brings incredible stiffness and an impressive low weight to any 1.25" bike.

The WCS 4-Axis is chock full of unique features. The Ritchey-specific angled steerer tube slot offers a more secure and uniform, pinch-free clamp pressure to the steerer tube - perfect for carbon steerer tubes. 3D net forging of 2014 alloy makes for the strongest stem and this process has been copied by most other stem manufactures. The stress managing forged, contoured and polished face plate mates perfectly to all bars while dispersing linear clamp stresses. All of these features give the Ritchey WCS 4-Axis stems a strength to weight ratio second to none. One of our most popular and recommended stems.

The 4-bolt 44mm faceplate (hence the 44 designation) is wider than a normal faceplate which has dual purpose - it provides better contact and stress distribution with the handlebar and increases stiffness and rigidity. The WCS 44's stem body features a slightly squared off profile to increase torsional stiffness and rigidity. Sprinters simply love this stem. The steerer clamp is angled to evenly spread clamping force and is ideal for use with all carbon or alloy fork steerer tubes. Perfect choice for anyone looking to beef up the front end and increase steering input.
