The Mammoth is designed for high-volume tires on gravel and mountain bikes, where you need to move more air per stroke to inflate larger casings. The oversized barrel pushes more air with each pump compared to standard road mini pumps, which means fewer strokes to reach pressure when you're dealing with 40-millimeter gravel tires or 2.3-inch trail tires. The tradeoff is size—this pump is bigger than an ultralight road pump—but if you're running wide tires, the faster inflation is worth carrying the extra bulk.

The pump uses a Presta-only thread-on head attached to a retractable hose. The hose extends from the pump body and screws directly onto your valve, which puts less stress on the valve stem during pumping compared to a push-on head.
