A protective cap that snaps over the Podium bottle nozzle solves the problem of dirt and debris contaminating your drinking valve when you're riding gravel, mountain bike trails, or dusty roads where wheels kick up material directly at your bottles. The mud cap creates a physical barrier between the valve and whatever gets thrown up from the trail surface—dirt, mud, dust, sand, or any combination of road grime that would otherwise coat the valve you're putting your mouth on.
