Description
Thirteen sprockets on a road cassette sounded like overkill until you actually rode one. Campagnolo's Record 13 cassette extends gear range and tightens the jumps between cogs in a way that changes how you think about shifting on rolling terrain. Built around the N3W freehub standard, this cassette is the workhorse companion to Campagnolo's wireless 13-speed groupsets, sitting one tier below Super Record but sharing the same ratios and the same shift performance.
Two ranges are available: a 10-29 for riders who want tight spacing and live in flatter terrain, and a 10-32 that adds climbing range without sacrificing the close ratios up top. Both start at a 10-tooth small cog, which is what makes the system work — that smaller starting point lets Campagnolo stretch the range while keeping single-tooth jumps through the middle of the cassette where you spend most of your time. The result feels closer to a racing block in the cogs you use at tempo, but with bailout gears for steeper grades when you need them.
The N3W freehub is required. If you're moving from an 11- or 12-speed Campagnolo wheelset, the N3W body is backwards compatible with older Campagnolo cassettes using an adapter, but you cannot run a 13-speed cassette on an older HG or Campagnolo 11-speed freehub. Worth checking your wheels before ordering — the Excel équipe can confirm compatibility if you're unsure what freehub standard your hubs use.... Read More
