Wet roads turn a Caledonia into a rooster tail machine without fenders, which limits how often you can ride with others or how presentable you'll be arriving at work. The problem is that race-oriented frames rarely include fender mounts—the hardware adds weight and creates attachment points that most performance riders never use. Cervelo designed the Fender Mount Assembly 302A as an add-on system that creates proper mounting points on the Caledonia and Caledonia-5 without permanently modifying the frame.

The kit works with the existing thru-axle locations rather than requiring dedicated eyelets. Special insert mounts replace or augment the standard thru-axle hardware at both wheels, giving you secure attachment points where fender stays typically need them. At the fork, a threaded insert with an integrated fender boss handles the front wheel coverage. The rear uses a combination of thru-axle inserts and a mount that integrates with the rear derailleur hanger position.

Between the wheels, a seat stay bridge assembly spans the gap where traditional frames would have a bridge with a fender eyelet. This component bolts to the seat stays and provides a central mounting point for the rear fender. A frame protector kit is included to prevent the bridge assembly from marking the carbon where it contacts the stays—a detail that matters when you're attaching metal hardware to an expensive frameset....
