Description
Continental replaces the Race King with the Dubnital, redesigning the tread pattern around cross-country and down-country requirements. The center knobs sit closer together than the old Race King layout, maintaining low rolling resistance on hardpack while the siped tread blocks provide bite during acceleration. Transition knobs spread wider with reinforced edges that engage progressively as you lean into corners, and the shoulder blocks space farther apart with additional siping for grip when the line gets loose or the terrain shifts off-camber.
The casing construction uses 3/330 TPI fabric, which means three layers of 110 TPI material under the tread with an anti-puncture strip positioned beneath the center knobs. Sidewalls carry three fabric layers for tubeless sealing and sidewall protection against rocks and roots. This matches the casing technology Continental uses on their road racing tires, bringing that same compliance and air retention to mountain applications. The one-ply construction keeps weight down while the reinforced crown and sidewalls balance puncture protection against suppleness.
Tubeless Ready bead design includes optimized bead area geometry that seats predictably on hookless and hooked rims. The folding aramid bead compresses for storage or carrying as a spare. If you're running tubes, the casing works with standard mountain bike tubes, though the three-layer sidewall construction provides enough air retention for tubeless setups with sealant.... Read More
