Description
Continental's Trinotal replaces the Cross King with a tread pattern designed around mixed terrain versatility. The center knobs spread wider with increased void volume compared to the Dubnital, creating space for soil interaction when conditions shift from hardpack to loose or damp surfaces. Siping cuts across the tread blocks to add biting edges without compromising knob structure, and the transition zone spaces knobs to support progressive lean angles as you move off-center. Shoulder blocks carry additional siping with reinforced bases that resist folding during hard cornering.
The 3/330 TPI casing uses three layers of 110 TPI fabric under the tread with an anti-puncture strip positioned beneath the center knobs, matching the construction approach Continental applies across their updated mountain bike range. Sidewalls carry three fabric layers for tubeless air retention and protection against trail debris. This one-ply construction keeps rotating weight reasonable while the reinforced crown and sidewalls provide puncture resistance for cross-country and down-country applications.
Available in Race casing for weight-focused riding or Trail casing with more robust single-ply construction that handles aggressive terrain without the weight penalty of full enduro casings. Compound selection includes Rapid for acceleration-focused applications or Grip for balanced characteristics across varied surfaces. The Rapid compound draws from Continental's road and gravel tire formulations, prioritizing low rolling resistance and quick acceleration on climbs and flats. The Grip compound balances damping, flexibility, and traction for mixed conditions where surface consistency changes during a single ride.... Read More
