C.I.M. Bottle Cage
Description
Nothing spoils a good ride like watching a bottle bounce loose on a rough descent, and ENVE built the C.I.M. Bottle Cage to eliminate that scenario. The name spells out the approach: C.I.M. stands for Carbon Injection Molded, a process that pairs the low weight of carbon with the structural integrity of a molded polymer.
The cage is made from long carbon fiber reinforced polyamide, injection molded into shape. That construction keeps the cage rigid enough to hold a bottle firmly without becoming a fragile part you have to treat carefully. The result is a cage that grips hard but stays durable through repeated bottle insertions and the kind of impacts that come with riding off pavement.
What keeps the bottle put are the full-contact rails. Rather than gripping at just a few points, the rails run along the length of the bottle to prevent creep and ejection when the surface gets rough. ENVE tuned that grip for road, gravel, and mountain use, which is why you see these cages on mixed-surface builds rather than road bikes alone. Riders running stainless or titanium bottles like Camelbak, along with Purist-style plastic, report the fit holds across bottle shapes.... Read More
