Description
The grip surface rotates 8 degrees toward the handlebar axis, which automatically lifts your elbows outward when you grab the bars. That adjustment shifts your forearm and elbow position into a stronger stance for technical descents where you need control through rough sections. The GE1 Evo from Ergon came out of Enduro World Series development, where riders needed precision grip without fighting their bars through rock gardens and steep chutes.
Texture runs opposite to hand rotation direction. When you torque the grip during hard cornering or steep descents, the pattern catches your hand and prevents rotation instead of letting it slip. The grip body tapers from a teardrop shape at the thumb to a flared outer edge that spreads pressure across your palm. That wider outer section protects the ulnar nerve running along the outside of your hand, which compresses easily on round grips and shows up as numbness or tingling in your pinky and ring finger.
The inner core uses variable wall thickness to put more rubber where damping matters. The integrated grip end extends texture and cushioning all the way to the bar end without an outer clamp. That full-coverage design protects the ulnar nerve area but also means crash impacts go directly into the grip body rather than being absorbed by an external clamp. Right and left grips are specific to each side based on the ergonomic shaping and texture orientation.... Read More
