Description
Top tube mounting relocates your Edge computer away from crowded handlebars and protects it from branch strikes. The Edge Top Tube Mount from Garmin offers two installation methods depending on your frame design: direct bolting through integrated bosses or strap attachment for universal compatibility. This flexibility accommodates modern carbon frames with molded top tube shapes as well as traditional round tube profiles.
The bolt-through option provides the cleanest installation on frames with accessory mount bosses. Two M5 bolts secure the mount directly to threaded inserts, creating a low-profile attachment that won't shift under load. Adapter shims included in the kit compensate for varying tube diameters and contours, ensuring flush contact between mount and frame. If your frame lacks mounting bosses, the oversized silicone strap wraps around the top tube and locks through the mount's integrated channels. Two rubber pad profiles adapt the mount to different tube shapes while preventing scratches and movement.
A tether loop attaches your Edge computer to the mount as backup retention if the quarter-turn interface releases during a crash. The computer sits horizontally when properly positioned, maintaining GPS reception quality and screen visibility. All necessary hardware ships in the kit: bolts for direct mounting, the silicone strap for universal installation, adapter shims, tether, and instructions covering both setup methods.... Read More
