Off-road power measurement sits at the intersection of durability demands and measurement precision. The Garmin Rally XC110 addresses these demands with an all-metal pedal body design that protects the measurement hardware while delivering single-sensing power data accurate to within 1%. The removable power sensor spindle transfers between Rally road pedal bodies when you need the same measurement platform across different bikes or disciplines.
Single-sensing power meters measure through the left pedal and double that value to calculate total power output. This approach reduces system cost and weight compared to dual-sensing alternatives while maintaining accuracy sufficient for training applications. The strain gauge and gyroscope hardware sit inside a sealed spindle that threads into the pedal body using standard pedal threads. You can swap this spindle between Rally RS or RK road pedal bodies without specialized tools, which means one power measurement system adapts to multiple bike setups. The XC110 pedals ship with Shimano SPD-compatible cleats and work with any two-bolt SPD shoe.
The rechargeable lithium battery eliminates the disposable battery replacement cycle that characterizes earlier pedal-based power meters. A full charge provides 90 hours of ride time, and the quick-charge function delivers 12 hours of operation from 15 minutes connected to USB-C power. Travel mode puts the pedals into sleep state during transport to prevent battery drain. The magnetic charging clips attach to contacts on the pedal body without requiring disassembly or access panels.
