Description

Transferable power sensors solve a problem that multi-bike owners know well: buying one power meter means committing to one bike, or buying duplicates. Garmin's Rally XC210 addresses this by separating the sensing hardware from the pedal body. The spindles contain all the measurement electronics, and you can unbolt them from these SPD pedal bodies and reinstall them onto Rally RS210 (SPD-SL) or RK210 (Look Keo) road pedal bodies without losing calibration or paired device connections. If you ride gravel with SPD cleats and road with three-bolt, the Rally platform lets you run the same power meter across both setups.

The XC210 represents Garmin's latest generation of the Rally platform, with a redesigned sensing spindle that packs both the strain gauge and gyroscope inside a sealed unit with an internal rechargeable battery. That last detail matters because it eliminates the coin cell replacement hassle that plagued earlier power meter pedals. You get 90 hours of ride time on a full charge, and the quick-charge capability delivers 12 hours of riding from just 15 minutes plugged in. A travel mode puts the pedals to sleep during transport so you're not draining battery sitting in your bike bag.

Dual-sensing means both pedals measure independently, which unlocks the full cycling dynamics package. You get left/right power balance to identify imbalances, power phase data showing where in the pedal stroke you're generating force, and platform center offset tracking where your foot applies pressure on the pedal surface. That last metric helps dial in cleat position. Garmin also added force data on this generation, which shows the relationship between power and cadence in more detail than previous models offered....
