This is the original, 'old school' diameter for shifting cables - 5mm. While we still offer it for the retro crowd, the 4mm variety shifts more precisely, especially on longer stretches, and is now considered industry standard. 5mm will not fit on some modern frames whose cables stops are made to fit 4mm ferrules.
