Description
Internal cable routing cleans up frame aesthetics, but housing rattling against the inside of your tubes gets annoying fast. Every bump in the road turns into an amplified knock coming from somewhere inside the frame. Jagwire's Internal Housing Damping Foam slides over your cables and housing before you thread them through the frame, cushioning the contact points and eliminating that hollow rattling sound.
The foam tubing accepts 4mm and 5mm housing diameters, which covers standard shift housing, brake housing, and hydraulic hose. You cut sections to length, slide them over the housing or hose, then route everything through the frame as usual. The foam compresses slightly when passing through tight frame ports but springs back once inside to fill the gap between housing and frame wall. On bikes where multiple cables share the same internal channel, the foam also prevents housing-to-housing contact that creates its own set of noises.
Five feet handles most single-bike installations with material to spare. If your frame has particularly long internal runs or you're working on multiple bikes, this roll gives you enough to work with without buying excess.
