Front lights break down into two jobs: throwing enough light to see the road on a dark ride, and making sure drivers see you when the sun is up. Lezyne built the Road Drive 500 to handle both without adding a bulky brick to your handlebar. The body measures about the size of a credit card and sits just millimeters thick, so it tucks under an out-front computer mount and disappears into a modern cockpit instead of cluttering it.

Two LEDs sit behind a lens Lezyne tuned specifically for road use, shaping the beam so light lands where a road rider needs it. Max output is 500 lumens in the daytime flash mode, with 400 lumens available as a continuous "blast" setting. Between three steady modes and three flash modes, you can dial the output to match a dawn commute, a fast group ride, or a bright afternoon when you just want to be seen. Runtime tops out at 55 hours in the 500-lumen day-flash mode, and Lezyne rates roughly 90 minutes at 400 lumens continuous.

The mount is where the road focus really shows. A low-profile quarter-turn interface clicks the light cleanly under compatible out-front computer mounts, and depending on your computer, it can sit almost entirely hidden from your view.
