Description
The LOOK Keo 2 Max pedals bring composite construction and a large contact surface to the Keo platform. The body is built from injected composite material that reduces weight while maintaining the structural requirements for road pedaling forces. A stainless steel plate on the pedal face provides cleat contact and wear resistance. The 400 square millimeter surface area distributes pressure across the sole, which can reduce hotspots during long rides.
These pedals use the three-bolt Keo cleat system with adjustable float from zero to nine degrees depending on which cleats you install. The spring tension mechanism allows for customization of engagement and release feel. Tension adjustment uses a single hex bolt at the rear of each pedal, accessible while the pedal is mounted to the crank. The axle runs on a composite bushing system rather than sealed cartridge bearings, which is typical for this price point in the Keo lineup.
The Keo 2 Max is positioned as an entry-level road pedal for riders moving from platform pedals or upgrading from older clipless systems. The composite body keeps the price accessible while maintaining the engagement characteristics and cleat compatibility that define the Keo platform. Cleat retention relies on the spring mechanism and the physical interface between cleat and pedal body. The pedals ship with Keo cleat mounting hardware but not the cleats themselves.
