Description

Mountain bike pedals that handle mixed conditions need to balance power transfer against the reality that mud, snow, and trail debris will work their way into every mechanism. LOOK's X-One G Ti addresses this with an oversized platform built around their ATAC engagement system, which uses a self-cleaning design that sheds debris as you clip in rather than packing it into spring cavities. The titanium axle runs on sealed cartridge bearings that keep contamination out of the rotation path, and the chromoly steel body withstands the impacts that aluminum platforms accumulate as dents and stress fractures over seasons of trail use.

The ATAC cleat interface works differently than spring-loaded systems that require precise foot positioning. Once the cleat contacts the pedal, the mechanism automatically centers and captures it—useful when you're remounting on technical terrain where your attention belongs elsewhere. Float is built into the engagement rather than added through cleat design, so lateral knee movement happens naturally throughout the pedal stroke. Release tension adjusts to match your preference, from easy bailout settings for newer riders to locked-down resistance for aggressive descending.

Platform width matters for power transfer and stability, and the X-One G Ti provides a larger contact area than LOOK's XC-focused pedals. That extra surface spreads pedaling force across more of your shoe sole, which reduces hot spots on longer rides and gives you a more planted feel when standing to accelerate. The wider stance also improves control when you're unclipped and need to dab or recover from loose-surface slides.... Read More
