Description

The LOOK X-Track Race Carbon Ti pedals use a carbon fiber-reinforced body paired with a titanium axle to reduce weight while maintaining structural requirements for trail riding forces. The titanium axle runs on sealed cartridge bearings that isolate rotation from dirt and water intrusion. The pedal face integrates a stainless steel cleat contact plate that handles engagement and release cycles without wearing down the carbon body. The X-Track platform uses a two-sided entry system that allows clipping in from either side of the pedal, which eliminates the need to flip the pedal with your foot before engagement.

These pedals work with LOOK's two-bolt X-Track cleats and are not compatible with Shimano SPD cleats despite the similar mounting pattern on shoes. The cleat interface on these pedals is specific to LOOK's system, so attempting to use SPD cleats will result in poor engagement or no retention at all. The cleat retention mechanism uses adjustable spring tension, accessible through a hex bolt at the rear of each pedal. Tension adjustment allows you to customize how much force is required to clip in and out, which is useful when setting up new pedals or adapting to different riding conditions. The sealed cartridge bearing system extends service intervals compared to loose ball bearing designs. When bearings eventually wear, the cartridge design allows for straightforward replacement without specialized tools.

The carbon body construction combined with the titanium axle reduces pedal weight compared to the chromoly-axle X-Track Race Carbon model while maintaining the same open design that sheds mud on trail rides. The contact plate provides a defined engagement zone that works when your shoes are covered in dirt. The pedal body sits close to the crank arm, which keeps the Q-factor narrow and maintains a natural pedaling stance.
