Panaracer Race A EVO3 Gravel Tire
The Race A EVO3 Gravel offers the heavenly balance or road and gravel by serving up a high-performance road tire casing with a course file gravel tread. Building on both the road EVO3 and GravelKing tire platforms, these tires offer GravelKing durability and traction, in a lighter weight and more supple package. Available in 26mm, 28mm and 32mm widths, there is a tire size for most road or gravel bikes. From secondary roads which includes soft or hard dirt and unpaved surfaces, to off-season training the EVO3 Gravel have a wide range.
At the core of the Race A EVO3 gravel features the supple and strong AX-a high density 90tpi (270tpi) casing. The casing's composition consists of tightly woven soft and flexible fibers that are strong enough for durability and to handle high tire pressures, but still conform to varied and uneven surfaces. This flexibility and suppleness results in maximized grip, comfort and a certain surefooted feel in corners. Panaracer molds the famed GravelKing tread to the Ax-a casing. This natural rubber compound has a CG-style course file tread pattern which excels on lose or hard dirt and inconsistant and variable terrain and any tempature. The tread sits deep over the casing, practically covering the sidewalls to offer increases grip in rough conditions. Sandwiched between the casing and tread Panaracer's proprietary Pro Tight Shield layer. This woven bead-to bead protection layer offers extreme protection by keeping general road debris from penetrating the casing. Pro Tight Shield is both flexible and pliant for a net result of top protection without effecting the supple ride quality.

I got the 28's they are very puncture resistant. Very good control on gravel they do not get cuts. They roll very fast with little rolling resistance. 5 stars all the way. Except they are the most difficult tire I have ever tried to mount. Even on Ksyrium ES wheels which I've usually been able mount tires by hand on. I spent about 2hrs each mounting these and ruined 2 tubes. Ended up using a C clamp to hold one side on while I worked the other side on. Luckily I have yet to get a flat on the road.
Pros puncture and cut resistant. fast rolling
Cons very very difficult to mount

This is a niche tire that ticks many boxes. I mounted a pair of 28s on my brevet machine. I purchased these to replace a worn pair of bog standard 28c GravelKings. Most 28c tires are a good fit beneath my 40mm Berthoud mudguards as they generally puff out to about 29mm wide---the maximum I will tolerate with these mudguards. The Race A Gravels ride really swell. Not quite tub-like, but close enough. I'd rate them a bit more damp than the GravelKings on washboard and across road fissures. This is a plus because the GravelKings are a benchmark tire in this regard. On a recent 200 mile brevet I found myself rambling over long stretches of gravel. They swept them away with aplomb. No cuts and no punctures. I was very happy. My only complaint is that they are a bit undersized. Mine measured only 27mm on 17mm internal rims. 28c GravelKings and Compass tires have measured 29+ on the same rims. I am curious to learn what the 32c Race A Gravels measure.
Pros Supple and hardy
Cons Mildly undersized
