Description

The Aspen name has meant one thing at Maxxis for a long time: cross-country rubber built around low rolling resistance. The Aspen AT Maxxspeed EXO TR keeps that tread philosophy and adds a knob pattern with real presence at the edges, which is what the AT designation is telling you. Center knobs stay low, ramped, and tightly spaced so they roll along with minimal drag on hardpack and gravel doubletrack, while the shoulder blocks step up in height and square off to give you something to lean against when the trail turns.

MaxxSpeed is the triple-compound layup used across the cross-country range. A firm base rubber sits under the tread to support the knobs and keep them from folding under load, a low-rolling-resistance center compound handles the sustained contact of straight-line pedaling, and a softer durometer wraps the shoulders where the rubber needs to deform and grab. The practical result is a tread that does not feel like it is fighting you on a long fire road climb but still holds a line when you tip it into a loose corner.

Underneath is a 120 TPI carcass with EXO protection, a woven layer that adds cut and abrasion resistance along the sidewall where rock strikes actually happen, without going to a heavy enduro-weight casing. That combination is why this works as a downcountry tire rather than a race-day-only choice: cross-country tread behavior with enough sidewall to handle terrain that chews up thin race casings. Tubeless Ready bead construction seats and seals with standard sealant on any tubeless-compatible rim.... Read More
