Description

Between the Assegai's tighter knob spacing and the Shorty's full mud-spike aggression sits the Maxxis High Roller III — a third-generation redesign built for conditions that demand soil penetration without committing to a dedicated mud tire. The widely spaced tread clears debris that would pack into denser patterns, while the mid-spike center knobs dig into soft and loose surfaces without the squirm that taller spikes produce on hardpack. World Cup athletes including Jackson Goldstone and Marine Cabirou helped develop and validate this tread on demanding race courses before the tire reached production.

Center knobs borrow their profile from the Shorty but scale down height and spacing, striking a balance between penetration and stability. These knobs find purchase in blown-out berms, loose over hard conditions, and dusty terrain where shallower treads would slide. The transition to the shoulder maintains predictable grip as you increase lean angle — the tire doesn't suddenly let go when you commit to a line. Large, well-supported side knobs provide the cornering traction that gravity riding demands, with enough structure to resist folding under hard lateral loads.

MaxxGrip compound delivers the stickiest, slowest-rebounding rubber in the Maxxis mountain lineup. This is the same formulation World Cup Downhill and Enduro World Series athletes run when traction determines results. The compound prioritizes grip over longevity and rolling speed — a deliberate tradeoff for riders who need maximum adhesion on wet roots, off-camber rock, and slick hardpack where momentum depends on maintaining contact....
