Description
Campagnolo uses a splined interface for both their bottom bracket cups and cassette lockrings, and this single tool handles both jobs. The Park Tool BBT-5/FR-11C combines the 24mm bottom bracket spline pattern with the cassette lockring spline pattern on opposite ends, so you're not digging through a drawer looking for two separate tools when you need to service a Campy drivetrain. The 3/8-inch drive fitting works with standard ratchets, breaker bars, or torque wrenches depending on whether you're removing or installing.
The bottom bracket end fits Campagnolo Ultra-Torque and Power-Torque external bearing cups—the outboard bearing design Campagnolo has used across their road groupsets for years. The cassette end engages the splined lockring that secures Campagnolo cassettes to their freehub bodies. Same spline count, same engagement depth as the factory tool, just combined with the bottom bracket interface to reduce your tool inventory by one piece.
Build quality matters for tools that see real torque. The BBT-5/FR-11C uses hardened steel construction throughout, with the spline teeth machined to match Campagnolo's specifications precisely. Sloppy fit means rounded splines, especially on lockrings that previous mechanics may have installed with excessive torque. The close tolerance here keeps engagement solid across the full spline contact area, distributing load evenly instead of concentrating stress on a few teeth.... Read More
