Description
Chain tool pins wear out faster than the tools they fit into, and when the pin tip mushrooms or chips, the tool starts damaging chains instead of driving pins cleanly. The Park Tool CTP-4K keeps your CT-4, CT-4.2, or CT-4.3 chain tool working properly with a set of three replacement pins, so you're not buying a whole new tool when only the consumable part has worn out.
Each pin in the kit is hardened steel, matching the original factory pins that shipped with your chain tool. The replacement process takes about thirty seconds—loosen the handle, pull the old pin, drop in the new one, and you're back to work. If you're doing any volume of chain work, whether that's shop use or just maintaining multiple bikes at home, keeping spare pins on hand means you're never stuck waiting on a parts order when a pin finally gives up.
The CTP-4K fits the CT-4 series only. Park Tool's other chain tools use different pin diameters and lengths, so double-check your tool model before ordering. The CT-4 series covers 5 through 12-speed chains, which means these replacement pins handle everything from old friction-shifted bikes through current mechanical and electronic drivetrains. One detail worth noting: the pins work with both standard and master link chain configurations, since the tool itself doesn't care how the chain was originally joined.... Read More
