Description
Knowing what your bike weighs shouldn't require a trip to the local post office or balancing your frame on a bathroom scale. The Park Tool DS-1 Digital Scale hangs from any sturdy hook or beam and lets you weigh complete bikes, frames, wheels, or components up to 25 kilograms with accuracy to within 20 grams. That's precise enough to settle debates about claimed weights versus actual weights, track the gram penalty of different build choices, or verify that your new carbon wheels actually hit their advertised numbers.
The scale uses a simple hook-and-strap system that works with frames, wheels, and complete bikes. Loop the included strap around a top tube, through a wheel, or around a fork crown, clip it to the hook, and read the display. The backlit LCD shows weight in kilograms, pounds, or pounds and ounces depending on your preference. A tare function zeros out the strap weight or lets you weigh items in a bag or box without including the container. The auto-off feature preserves battery life when you forget to shut it down after weighing your latest upgrade.
Build quality matters for a tool that's going to hang bikes worth thousands of dollars. The DS-1 uses a die-cast aluminum body that can handle the mechanical stress of repeated use without the housing cracking or the internal load cell drifting out of calibration. The hook accepts straps, cables, or carabiners for different weighing setups. Power comes from two AAA batteries, which are included and easy to replace when they eventually run down.... Read More
