Description
Multi-tools live in your saddle bag or jersey pocket until something goes wrong, then they become the most important thing you own. The Park Tool IB-2 takes the I-Beam approach to folding tool design, where the tools nest into a central spine rather than folding out from a single pivot point. This layout keeps the tool slim when closed but still gives you decent leverage when you're actually using it—the beam becomes your handle, and you're not fighting against other folded tools digging into your palm.
The IB-2 covers the fasteners you'll actually encounter on the side of the road. Hex wrenches run from 2mm up through 8mm, which handles everything from derailleur limit screws to crank arm bolts. Torx T25 takes care of disc rotor bolts. Phillips and flathead screwdrivers address older components and the occasional accessory mount. The chain tool works on 7 through 12-speed chains, so you can push out a damaged link and get yourself home rather than calling for a ride.
Spoke wrenches cover three nipple sizes—useful if you taco a wheel and need to pull it back into true enough to clear the brake. The 8mm hex accepts a pedal wrench adapter if you need to swap pedals with hex spindle interfaces. Everything folds into a package compact enough to forget about until you need it, which is the whole point of carrying a multi-tool in the first place.... Read More
