Description
Sidewall cuts happen mid-ride, and a patch kit won't help when the tube is bulging through a gash in the tire casing. The Park Tool TB-2 is a temporary structural repair that bridges the damaged area from inside the tire, letting you finish your ride instead of calling for a pickup. These boots buy you time to get home or to a shop—they're not a permanent fix, but they turn a ride-ending problem into a manageable one.
The TB-2 includes three self-adhesive tire boots made from a tough, flexible material that conforms to the inside of the tire casing. You clean the area, stick the boot over the damage, and reinstall the tube. The adhesive holds the boot in place during installation and initial riding, while the tube's pressure keeps it seated against the casing once you're rolling. Each boot measures large enough to cover significant sidewall gashes or tread cuts that would otherwise render the tire unusable.
These boots work on any tire type—road, gravel, mountain—and the three-pack means you can stash one in your saddle bag, one in your jersey pocket, and keep a spare at home. They're thin enough to fold flat for storage and don't add noticeable weight to your repair kit. For riders who venture far from trailheads or travel remote roads, a tire boot is cheap insurance against a long walk.... Read More
