Description
Gravel racing has matured past the point where a single bike can credibly serve every purpose. Pinarello's Dogma GR acknowledges this reality by refusing to compromise, building a machine exclusively for high-speed competition rather than chasing the adventure-touring market. The result is a gravel bike that rides like a road racer with wider tires, borrowing the M40X carbon fiber, aerodynamic tube shapes, and race-focused geometry from Pinarello's flagship Dogma F road platform.
The frame construction centers on Toray's M40X carbon, a material Pinarello reserves exclusively for Dogma-level products. This layup delivers a tensile modulus of 377, producing a frame that weighs 960 grams while maintaining the stiffness required for power transfer over rough terrain. The headtube incorporates Pinarello's signature bow shape, a narrow aerodynamic profile that has evolved through multiple Dogma generations since its introduction on the F8 in 2014. The E-TICR headset system uses an elliptical steerer tube with differentiated bearings, wider at the bottom for steering loads and narrower at the top to minimize frontal area.
Tire clearance stands at 45mm front and 42mm rear, dimensions that place the Dogma GR closer to all-road territory than the 50mm-plus specifications common on adventure-oriented gravel bikes. Pinarello positions this as intentional, optimizing aerodynamics and handling for hardpack and fine gravel surfaces where races are typically decided. The tighter clearances also reduce frame material, contributing to the claimed 7.35kg complete bike weight.... Read More
