Description
Same frame design as a bike that costs three times as much — that's the pitch behind the Pinarello F5 105 Di2, and it holds up under scrutiny. The F5 shares its mold geometry, tube profiles, and asymmetric chainstay construction with the Dogma F, the frame underneath multiple Grand Tour victories. What changes is the carbon grade: Torayca T700 UD replaces the higher-modulus T900 used in the F7 and F9, shifting the balance slightly toward vibration damping over outright stiffness. The result is a competition frame that rides a touch more forgivingly on rough pavement without abandoning the responsive, direct feel that defines the F-series platform.
Pinarello's asymmetric frame design addresses a problem that most manufacturers solve with uniform construction: chain tension pulls exclusively on the right side of the frame, creating uneven loading during hard efforts. The F5 uses different carbon layup schedules and tube profiles on each chainstay to equalize deflection, keeping the rear wheel tracking straight under power. The Onda carbon fork continues a design language Pinarello has refined since 2000, with curved blades tuned to reduce both longitudinal and lateral shock transmission. A 43mm rake works with the competition geometry across all 9 frame sizes to deliver handling that rewards aggressive cornering inputs and tracks confidently at speed on descents.
TiCR internal routing threads all cables, hoses, and electronic wires through the headset junction, producing a clean cockpit appearance while accommodating both electronic and mechanical drivetrains. The frame carries UCI approval for sanctioned racing, meeting the governing body's regulations for tube dimensions and construction. Italian threaded bottom bracket threading provides a traditional interface that simplifies crankset installation and eliminates the creaking that plagues some press-fit alternatives.... Read More
