Description

A worn headset bearing shows up as play in the steering or a gritty feeling through the bars, and on a frame that routes cables through the head tube, the replacement has to match the original geometry exactly. This TiCR Headset Bearing Kit from Pinarello is the factory-spec replacement matched to the TiCR full-internal routing system, where brake hoses and gear cables run directly through the headset bearings rather than around them. That internal path is why the bearing dimensions are held to frame-specific tolerances, and it's the reason a generic bearing that measures close but not exact won't seat properly.

The kit uses 45-degree angular contact cartridge bearings in a matched 1.5" upper and 1.5" lower configuration, each measuring 52mm outer diameter by 40mm inner diameter by 7mm tall. The angular contact design handles the combined radial and axial loads that steering puts on a headset, keeping the bars turning smoothly under braking and out-of-saddle efforts. Both bearings and their races are stainless steel, which is the material that matters here since sweat runs straight down the steerer and pools in the head tube on hard rides.

Because this is the OEM kit, you get the matched pair plus the fork crown race and split-ring retainer needed to complete the install. If you're replacing bearings on a TiCR-equipped frame, sourcing the exact factory part removes the guesswork of cross-referencing dimensions and contact angles, and it keeps the internal routing running clean through the new bearings....
