When developing the Cinturato Velo Tubeless Road Tire Pinarello's engineers had to decide how to determine the capabilities and characteristics of the tire based on the desired application and use. Tire was conceived as a high mileage, comfortable and well protected tubeless option, making it ideal for endurance road, gran fondo, and serious training. As it is offered in 700x26 through 700x35 sizes, it ranges out a super fast gravel tire. Grip and control were also priorities, so the Cinturato Velo Tubeless could be ridden through the rain and still be fast enough on dry pavement. With what is essentially a triple protection system of rubber compound, and Armor Tech- a combination of a flexible, bead to bead thin nylon belt, and the superior puncture resistance of an aramid belt under the center tread, this is tire designed to get you where you are going, while still supplying overall riding performance. As a result it is a bit heavier than the lightweight road-race tubeless tires road racers love, but perfect for those who log heavy miles and compete in events where support is limited and finishing strong requires the capability to overcome road hazards and conditions.

The rubber and tread system of any tire creates and ensures performance. By engineering the tread and rubber systems together, while adding Armor Tech protection, Pirelli has been able to deliver the Cinturato Velo Tubeless Road Tire. Three innovative technologies are incorporated to achieve this: SmartNET Silica, Functional Groove Design (FGD), and Internal Contour Shaping (ICS). The silica compound delivers reliable grip in both dry and wet conditions, and delivers high rolling efficiency, thanks to its natural anisotropic orientation, which reduces heating while increasing elasticity. FGD is designed for extraordinary cycling comfort and water drainage. The narrow angle at the center of the tire footprint ensures wear regularity, while the wider lateral angle provides confidence and responsiveness at bend apex. The inverted lightning bolt and slash shoulder-wall pattern design effectively reduces noise and helps to drain water, for extra grip and control in corners and in softer material. The FGD progressive groove depth allows cyclists to enjoy high mileage and swift handling reaction. ICS utilizes different crown/sidewall radius and textile designed to match optimal footprint contour; which delivers stability/control with sensational handling feedback with an ideal tire shape.

Pirelli is not recommending a specific sealant at this time, so we suggest any ammonia-free option, such as Stan's NoTubes or Orange Seal. We have installed and experienced the Pirelli Cinturato Velo Tubeless Road Tire as they have been spec'ed on Pinarello Dyodo bikes and have found them to offer great grip and comfort, even when run at firmer pressures, with excellent wear and protection- a must for the weight of the Dyodo e-road bike- and can easily recommend them for their intended usage.
