Traveling with a Break-Away bike is a great system right up until you have to deal with the brake cables. Ritchey's Quick Disconnect solves that — a small alloy inline coupler that lets you split the brake cable at the same point you split the frame, so packing the bike for a flight doesn't mean rerouting housing or burning a barrel adjuster every trip. Sold individually, so grab one for the front brake and one for the rear if you're setting up a fresh Break-Away build.

The design is straightforward: threaded alloy barrels with a rubber noise dampener that thread together inline with your existing mechanical brake housing. When it's time to pack the bike, you back the two halves apart by hand and the cable separates cleanly. Reassembly is the reverse — thread it back together, check your lever feel, and you're rolling. The rubber dampener keeps the coupler from rattling against the frame or generating any buzz when you're riding.

This is a mechanical-only part. It works with standard brake cable and housing — caliper, cantilever, or mechanical disc — but it is not compatible with hydraulic brake lines.
