If you're rebuilding a Ritchey Road Logic, Swiss Cross, or any other frame running an integrated IS42/28.6 head tube, this is the upper half you need. The Classic Upper Headset Assembly from Ritchey is the drop-in replacement bearing, top cap, and hardware for the upper cup — sized to the 42mm head tube bore and 1-1/8" steerer that's still the standard on most road frames. It's the same headset Ritchey specs on their own complete bikes, which is the cleanest endorsement you're going to get for a service part.

The bearing itself is a sealed angular contact cartridge with 45°/45° contact angles, dimensioned 41.8/30.5/8mm. That 45/45 geometry handles the combined radial and axial loads that a fork puts into the upper bearing — braking force pushing back, steering load pulling forward — without the play you'd get from a cheaper radial-only bearing. The cartridge is sealed and packed with Ritchey grease from the factory, so corrosion resistance is built in for riders who don't baby their bikes in wet weather.

Worth noting: this is the upper assembly only. If your lower bearing is also tired, you'll want to order the matching lower separately.
